....Human sexuality is distinct from the animal in that we have the capacity for a variance of sexual connection -- from the primal animal urge to the energy of two souls, in complete bliss, intertwined in cosmic consciousness. In Symphony of Sex, Shakura Ensemble Ritual Theatre explores these various levels od sex energy thru their unique concept of “intentional” theater: movement, live-music, shamanic chant, video v.j. projections and theater vignettes dramatizing sex rituals of the indigenous tribes of New Guinea, Ancient Greece and Tibetan Bon Po.
Intentionalized and comprovisized by Blanche Blacke, David DelCiello and Ed Ludwig in the fall of 2002. Script written by Blanche Blacke, choregraphed by Ed Murray and video art added for production at the Theatre Building Chicago in September 2003.
